When going on a cruise you should pack for casual and evening wear.
Here is my personal list of the things I am taking:
CD's
Binoculars
Sewing Kit
Corkscrew
Sunglasses
Sun Hat
Sunscreen
Beach Bag (lg)
Pool Bag (smaller)
Swimming money carrier
Camera + Accessories - Extra Memory Card - Extra Battery?
Disposable Camera - I use this for some ports - a safety issue for my digital
Steamer (for clothing) - they don’t want irons on board
Umbrella
Disposable Rain Coat - I tuck this in my carry bag for excursions
Condoms - 12 - or more if you are optimistic
Toys
Phone and charger - check your provider for information on calls from Mexico
Alarm Clock
Magnifying Mirror
Books
Evening Bags
Gravol or Dramamine
Pepto Bismol
Curling Iron
Extra Contact Lenses
Extra Pair Glasses for Wayne
Bandaids / Medications needed
Coffee Mug (insulated)

Notebook to write names down of folks you meet or "business cards" to hand out.

There is no limit on suitcases, but there isn't much room for storage in the cabins, so bring what you want, but remember how many nights you have and use a packing chart to help you stay focused on what to pack.
